Practical Fishkeeping  |  August 2021
Sometimes I feel like I should just concede defeat, but I never like to go down without a fight. A couple of the features in this issue were difficult, but that was only because they were ambitious. In particular, my feature on Sundadanio proved to be a nightmare when trying to unravel the right identifications for the images, and I’m still not sure I’ve got them right. I apologise if I haven’t, but just know that I pored over descriptions for days and had a few restless nights on the back of that article.
I’m also delighted to be able to run a feature on a species that seems to get lots of publicity for all the wrong reasons. Daniel Konn-Vetterlein’s piece on Gulper catfish helps to redress the balance of a fish that gets wheeled out like a circus act on social media, but deserves so much more.
