Don’t look him in the eyes
Have you ever seen one of those big Japanese meetings in a film? You know the kind where there’s dozens of people in an office and loads of bowing? I’ve been in one of those meetings and it was the weirdest experience.
When I was filming Thumb Candy, a delightful documentary about videogames – it’s on YouTube if you fancy it, we were lucky enough to get an interview with Toru Iwatani, the guy that made Pac-Man. However, to secure the interview, we had to prove that we were good enough to do it and that our intent was pure, hence the meeting.
