Steel and cement, built from natural earth resources, are two essentials of the modern age. There’s just one problem. Steel and cement production are greenhouse gas-intensive and, per one report, they are “among the dirtiest industries on the planet.”
Per articles appearing in science journals like Nature and the popular press, including Time magazine, new advances are crafting “green” steel and cement that could help save the planet. Not only might steel production become “carbon neutral,” but cement production could also become a “carbon sink.”
