We take a look at how Oliver Cromwell was made ready for its August 4 1968 railtour duties, as Lostock Hall fitters Tommy Baldwin and Pete Whelan (on the running plate) prepare to bolt the engine’s unofficial wooden replica nameplates, made by RCTS (North West) member (and joiner by trade) Ted Baxendale, to the deflectors.
