An open-air performance outside the Cremona Duomo at the 2019 ESTA Congress
DUOMO PHOTO SALVO LIUZZI
Cremona, city of music and violin making, is the ideal stage for performance. To play and sing in the place where the great master luthiers lived and worked and created their masterpieces is an emotionally intense experience. This is a city rich in art and history, where musicians, violin makers and artists have flourished for centuries. Cremona’s Masterclass project, organised by the city’s Chamber of Commerce with support from the Lombardy Region administration, has allowed groups, orchestras, choirs, bands and small ensembles from all over the world to perform in competitions, concerts and masterclasses for the past 13 years. The performance venues are historic squares and palaces; churches and courtyards; theatres and prestigious halls, such as the beautiful Giovanni Arvedi Auditorium of the Museo del Violino.
