Total Carp  |  August 2024
This month’s cover star is a great example of making the right decision to catch carp. It had been pretty tough going on Bluebell’s Kingfisher Lake and Luke Vallory made the executive decision to cut the session short and squeeze in a separate night at Elsons just before we went to print. That decision would lead to one of Luke’s most prolific sessions in his adult life – to say it kicked off would be an understatement, but I’ll let you read his feature to get the full story.
Live session features like that are integral to Total Carp and they show you the reality of carp fishing in its rawest form. Sometimes anglers catch, sometimes they blank, but sometimes you witness some amazing feats of angling. One thing that’s always clear is that carp fishing is rarely EASY – decision making and determination both play a huge part in the success of these features.
Ian Russell’s feature once again proved this, as his session went from terrible to tremendous in less than five minutes! If there’s one thing to take from this magazine it’s never to give up trying, as a result could literally be just around the corner!
If that alone isn’t enough to get your summer carping revved up, then don’t worry as we’ve got loads of top summer carp fishing advice in this issue, including a number of floater fishing articles too – it’s quite possibly the most fun and simultaneously frustrating forms of carp fishing you can do!
Tuck in and enjoy, I hope it helps take your summer’s carp fishing to new heights!
