To all those who are joining us for the first time, having decided to go vegan for Veganuary 2020, welcome – you’re doing a wonderful thing. To all our regulars, it’s great to see you again. Although this mini mag is aimed at making the transition for those who are new to veganism as smooth and easy as possible, hopefully those of you who have been vegan for years will find it useful too!
Veganism is going from strength to strength and things are changing on a daily basis. Veganuary has hopes of 350,000 people signing up to take part this year, with the likes of Joaquin Phoenix and Alicia Silverstone jumping on board to help promote it and encourage people to join – not just in the UK but all over the world! And this year’s campaign sees Veganuary’s very first TV advert launching to spread the message far and wide. It really has come a long way over the last few years and we’re constantly excited by the response and so pleased to be able to support it in any way we can. In this special mini mag, we’ve tried to pack in all the info you need to kick off your first month of veganism (and beyond). You’ll find a full seven day meal plan on page 13, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snacks for each day, then once you’re into the swing of things, you can mix it up with some delicious dishes that will cost you just £1 per portion (page 15), plus others that use just five ingredients (page 17). We also cover all the best things to pick up from the supermarkets (page 8) and what to try when you’re out and about in town at lunchtime (page 11).
