Let’s party!
Festival season is upon us, and these vegan-friendly events are what your diary is crying out for
What better way to enjoy the summer season than by heading to a festival? With live music, a sense of freedom and good vibes — all while indulging in some tasty food and drinks. No longer do you need to queue at a greasy burger van for a disappointing portion of soggy chips — these festivals are offering fine dining vegan food — though you’ll still have to eat it of a paper plate, but that’s part of the fun!
VeeLyfe 27th July, London
London’s first vegan music festival, Veelyfe, is perfect for those wanting to dip their toe into the summer festival scene, without committing to camping out. ‘Putting green back into the festival scene’, VeeLyfe boast the UK’s largest solar panelled staging, eco-friendly toilets, biodegradable cups and food trays and 100 per cent vegan cuisine. Held at an urban beach in Lee Valley White Water Centre, all attendees are urged to be as eco-friendly as possible and to travel to the event by public transport. Radio 4 DJ and proud vegan, Claira Hermet, hosts the event, which will play a mix of hip hop, RnB, afro beats and house music. veelyfe.com
