The sunshine vitamin
Summer is here, so there’s no better time to talk about vitamin D... also known as the sunshine vitamin! In the UK from April until September, lighter-skinned people can get enough vitamin Dnaturally by exposing face, arms and legs for 5-30 minutes two or three times a week, or nine minutes every day. People with darker skin may need up to 25 minutes a day in the sun to produce enough vitamin D. Be mindful of skin damage though and always wear SPF. In the winter, taking a supplement is essential. Ihad vitamin Ddeficiency last year so I can attest that a supplement is essential to stay healthy!
