Issue#45 of VW Magazine Australia (Feb-April '15) features a rare 1954 Barndoor Kombi restored in his home garage by VW enthusiast Matt Raine. Barndoor Kombi models are easily identifiable by their large opening rear engine lid, which is larger than the later fifties models. This Barndoor Kombi has every period feature meticulously restored while concealing subtle engine and suspension modifications to make the bus easier to drive on today's fast paced roads. Joining Matt's Kombi feature is a pair of Bay Window Campers with matching teardrop camper trailers, a Dormobile camper and rat Beetle from Victoria, and full coverage of shows nationally and internationally including DOVW, reVolks and BusFest in the UK.
