Choosing a name for a baby or business is never easy. But what about for a car? Well, if the Alfa Romeo Junior is anything to go by, that isn’t a simple process, either; it’s already been rechristened after the Italian government said the originally intended name – Milano – was illegal to use.
The reason? It relates to the new model being built in Poland and Italian legislation forbidding ‘Italian-sounding’ products from being produced outside of the country.
The name ‘Junior’ is appropriate, though; Alfa Romeo’s smallest SUV to date will slot below the Tonale in its line-up, to rival similarly premium small SUVs such as the Audi Q2 and Lexus LBX (our 2024 Car of the Year).
