THE COROLLA TOURING Sports stands alone in this class, sporting a regular hybrid engine that promises low running costs without a high purchase price. You also get a car that’s good to drive, with a robust and well-equipped interior. Its boot isn’t the largest in this class, but it’s not far off. As with the Corolla family car, we’d pick the cheaper 1.8-litre model, although there’s a more powerful 2.0-litre version if you want the extra grunt.
