MARY ON SPORTY RELIEF BAKE OFF
Was there ever a time when we hadn’t heard of The Great British Bake Off? When we could have passed Paul Hollywood and simply thought he was a chap with very blue eyes? When we had no idea of the colourful delights that Mary Berry kept hidden in her wardrobe? The show has been going for nearly six years now and with twelve million viewers, it seemed obvious to channel its popularity into a good cause, so in 2012, the first Great Sport Relief Bake Off took place, alternating every year with The Great Comic Relief Bake Off. The programmes raise millions, with half going to projects in this country, and half to some of the poorest communities overseas.
