ESSENTIAL WORKOUT MATS
Whether you’re a downward-dog or a jumping-lunge type of person, you need a mat that doesn’t budge an inch
LULULEMON The Workout Mat
From £88|lululemon.co.uk|Tester Geri
This is a pricey mat, but is it worth it? I certainly liked how it made my workouts, and transitions, feel easy. It’s 6mm thick so is nicely cushioned for when I was doing high-impact jumps like split squats or squat jumps, and absorbed my weight easily. Across the whole of the top there’s a raised surface which gives something to grip on to in tough strength circuits, whether I was lying down, doing seated work or jumps. It’s also deeper than a yoga mat, and provides so much more cushioning and grip, so if your S&C work is important to you (and it should be!), this could be a worthwhile investment. Easy to wipe down too.
