DIARY
Don’t get us wrong, we’re all beautifully individual; we do what we want when we want and we don’t just follow the crowd, right? However, when it comes to January, we all seem to feel the same urge at exactly the same time to sign up for races. New year, new groove – let’s find something to aim for!
TEAM AND ALL LEVELS
RUNTHE WILD TEAM HALF
This is a brilliant event if you want to try your first trail half, as you’ll be accompanied by an experienced leader and have the support of a team on the route that winds through the stunning Chiltern Hills. It’s a team race so you’ll be grouped with runners of a similar ability. The leaders set the pace and give trail running tips along the way. £49, 16 April 2022, Tring, Hertfordshire, runthewild.co.uk
SHERWOOD PINES HALF AND 10K
A new half marathon and 10K race through undulating forest paths and trails. Designed for runners of all levels but especially suited for those new to running or doing their first trail race. From £20 for 10k, 20 March 2022, Edwinstowe, Nottingham, nice-work.org.uk
CIRCUIT DUSORELEGS
This accurately named race is a good one for anybody chasing a PB. Choose from a 5K, 10K, half, full or ultramarathon on a course that goes round and round a 400m athletics track . A 5K is 12.5 laps and an ultra 125 laps, or you can enter a six-hour challenge where you run as far as you can in the time window. Tea and cake included in the fee. £20 for 5K, 3 April 2022, Ware, Hertfordshire, zigzagrunning.co.uk
