Record-breaking performances across a mind-boggling variety of distances win Eilish a very special crown
Having taken the British and European 10K record at the Great Manchester Run, clocking a scorching 30:19:04, we think Eilish McColgan must now be the undisputed queen of British running.
Earlier this year, she took the British half marathon record at the Ras Al Khaimah race in the UAE, and last year she also took the 10-mile and 5,000m GB records. It’s been quite a time for the Scottish star, to say the least.
Only Helen Obiri – one of the world’s greatest ever female athletes – was able to finish ahead of McColgan, although her final burst of speed nearly even caught the Kenyan.
