Along with just over 11,000 other runners, I headed to Midsummer Common in Cambridge in March to run the Cambridge Half Marathon. That’s a lot of runners, and there’s a lot of potential for things to go wrong with a race that size. That said, my number arrived on time (I had paid the delivery fee to avoid picking it up the day before), the park and ride delivered me to the start without a hiccup, and there were plenty of toilets on hand for the anxious masses to wee more than once before the race got underway.
