Half marathon training plan
HALF MARATHON TRAINING PLAN
Training for a half marathon is a fun challenge to aim for – not just because completing the distance is a massive achievement that will make you feel like a running badass, but also because along the way you’ll learn things about yourself as a runner that will be much more valuable than the medal in the goodie bag

The atmosphere on race day makes all the training hours worthwhile
|| If this is the first time you’ve trained for a half marathon, each week you’ll run further than the week before. While this might be a daunting prospect in Week 1, your confidence will soon grow ||
One training session per week should be something other than running
Preparing well for your half marat hon will require you to focus on your running for a couple of months at least, and you’ll have to find ways to fit the training into your daily life. For instance, while you may have a lways thought you weren’t a morning runner, half marat hon training might ask you to rethink that. And you might find that 6am runs aren’t that bad after all. You might discover new routes as you add more distance to your runs each week, and you might find new people to run with.
