New Reader Magazine is a US online literary and lifestyle zine, soon to have a print edition. The editorial team’s purpose is ‘to publish fearless fiction and non-fiction, poetry, identity and culture essays, and ground breaking visual art.’ They hope to bring readers ‘the world and all the amazing things going on in it,’ and also to introduce readers ‘to all the weird and wonderful people who are Making Things Happen.’ Submissions from fresh perspectives and provocative new voices are welcomed. Investigative stories, memoirs and profiles, interviews, etc, of ‘people who are doing interesting things’. They prefer fiction and poetry that is more experimental and/or defies genre conventions.

They will also accept videos of spoken word poetry ‘if the video has not been previously published’. Please include a brief summary of the content in the submissions and do make sure videos have captions. Comics in any genre are welcome.
