Q
I have a character who is a retired police officer who has been left a blood-stained veil by her grandmother in her will, asking the police officer to get a DNA result on who the blood belongs to as this blood belonged to her biological father, only revealed on her death bed. So this would be the officer’s grandfather. Would a retired police officer have any short cuts to getting this done or would this only be done by paying an agency to test? Also would DNA still be present in blood stains after 80+ years?
