Baron Ribeyre & Associés is holding a two-day auction at Drouot in Paris on September 27- 28 devoted to a collection of enamelled advertising signs spanning over half a century from 1900 to 1960. The ensemble of approximately 600 items covers a large part of industrial and commercial production during the 20th century from cars and drinks to washing powder, biscuits and chocolate.
Pictured right is one of the entries, a Belgian enamelled sign from the mid-1930s for the drink Spa Citron. The 3ft 3in x 2ft 2in (1m x 65cm) panel, which is signed Géo for Jean Geoffroy and comes from the Emaillerie Koekelberg in Brussels, has an estimate of €2000-2500.
