IT USED TO BE THAT SPRING WAS THE BIG TIME for refreshing, but now, people are switching up their homes spring, summer, fall and winter—and we are loving it! Whether it’s buying a new sofa or sprucing up an interior with fresh paint, it seems everyone is renovating their homes, and for good reasons. We’re more aware now of the importance of spending time with our loved ones, we want to turn our homes into sanctuaries for restoration and relaxation, and work/life balance has never felt more important to master.
According to research from Furniture Today, Millennials are leading the charge in home makeovers, the group that is most likely to have redone their décor over the past 18 months. Gen X came in second, followed by Baby Boomers. Living rooms topped the list of projects, with about 40% of respondents saying they were focused on making over that room. Primary bedrooms, kitchens, and guest bathrooms were next in order on the list, but outdoor living areas (14.3%) and home offices (14.2%) came in strong, too. Another survey, from Architectural Digest, found that 70 percent of Americans are planning on redecorating their home.
