How were you cast in Dancing on Ice?
Out of the blue one of my friends, who is an agent, sent a message saying, “Your name’s come up with ITV, any interest in doing Dancing on Ice?’” [It was] a total shock. I went to the meeting and next thing I knew I’d been confirmed to do the show.
TV wasn’t really the direction I was going in, not reality show type stuff. It would have been more TV with my brother [fellow former Scotland rugby union star and model Thom Evans], with some kind of fitness guide stuff.
And your brother was on Strictly Come Dancing, wasn’t he? Did he give you some tips?
Yeah, I went to watch him on that and it was brilliant because we both fancied ourselves as dancers. Mum and dad are good dancers.
