Tamal Ray
After narrowly missing out on winning 2016’s Great British Bake Off, Tamal Ray’s easy on-screen charisma and his background as an NHS doctor made him an obvious choice to present Channel 4’s new series Live Well For Longer
Words Tim Heap
For people who don’t follow The Great British Bake Off, you were runner-up a couple of years ago. What have you been up to since?
It’s weird how quickly the time has flown by. Since finishing the show things have been pretty hectic, and as well as my day job as a doctor, I’ve continued to bake and write a fortnightly food column for The Guardian. I also worked with Channel 4 on Be Your Own Doctor, and the new show airs later this summer.
