TO A FINE ART
Lacoste are showing a lot of love in their collaboration with 20th-century pop art icon Keith Haring, whose work often depicted homosexuality, Having worked with the likes of Grace Jones and Madonna, the artist — who died in 1990 — set up the Keith Haring Foundation to provide funding and imagery for Aids organisations. Now, the Keith Haring X Lacoste collection keeps all the bold eccentricities of his designs alfive, with an all-over print of his famous illustrated figures. They’ve been splashed over polos, t-shirts, sweatshirts and even the lining of bomber jackets. The French brand have tapped into the 1980’s spirit of Haring’s work, using their classic pieces of Lacoste clothing as a canvas for his work. There’s even an appearance from the famous “barking dog” and the “heart” on the collars of their polo shirt and the back of their much-loved tennis shoe.
