EMIRATES IS set to boost its Boeing 777F fleet in the coming years with five new examples. Thanks to the firm order – valued at more than $1.7 billion at list prices – two 777Fs are poised for handover in 2024, while the remaining trio are scheduled to follow the year after. The new jets will be operated by Emirates SkyCargo, the airfreight division of the Dubaibased carrier. HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group, said: “Emirates is investing in new freighters so we can continue to serve customer demand with the latest fuel-efficient aircraft. This order reflects Emirates’ confidence in airfreight demand and overall aviation sector growth. It lays the ground for our continued growth.”
