BOOM SUPERSONIC, the company attempting to build the world’s fastest airliner, flew its technology demonstrator, the XB-1, for the first time on March 22. The trijet, which is powered by General Electric J85 turbojets, took to the air at Mojave Air & Space Port in California.
Blake Scholl, founder and CEO of Boom Supersonic, said: “XB-1 took flight in the same hallowed airspace where the Bell X-1 first broke the sound barrier in 1947.
