WHILE silver was not the strongest point of the hugely successful November 30-December 1 sale at Cheffins (Hammer highlights, ATG No 2273), it had its moments.
Probably the most eye-catching item in the category at Cambridge was this piece of Victorian electroplate, below. The 19½in (50cm) cigar lighter dragon with a body made in antelope horn, was pitched at £150-200 but went to the trade at £1600 (plus 22.5% buyer’s premium).
