Christian and Ben Scrimgeour’s weekly Sunday vintage market in Flat Iron Square in Southwark Street, near London Bridge, is also now held on a Saturday, making a weekend of it.
“Traders are keen to work on Saturdays as there are fewer antique/ vintage markets for them to trade at,” said Christian. “Also, the area is much busier on a Saturday with the Borough Market nearby.”
Earlier this year the Scrimgeours teamed up with the Royal Horticultural Society to run RHS Flowers and Flea. Christian said: “Our first involvement with the RHS was in April with the market’s first joint event when the society joined the market selling plants and giving workshops. The RHS is keen to promote itself to a younger crowd and the talks are very much geared to people who have a small garden or just a window box.”
