THE chief executive of RBS has refused to budge on plans to close bank branches around Scotland – including those in Campbeltown, Inveraray and Rothesay.
Appearing before the Scottish Select Affairs Committee at Westminster on May 8, Ross McEwan was interrogated on the bank’s plans.
RBS, which is majority- owned by the taxpayer, said last year changing cus-tomer banking habits had reduced the number of customers using branches, making many unviable.
