An Arran pensioner has received an apology from Scottish health secretary Shona Robison after he was given a 19-month waiting time to see a specialist. He has also now been given a hospital appointment for later this month.

Peter Randell, 78, who suffers from angina, had been told he couldn’t be seen by a consultant sooner because of staff shortages.
