A committee dedicated to saving Whiting Bay’s facilities is flush thanks to an Ardrossan builder’s merchant.
A chance conversation between an Arran customer and the manager of Howdens Kitchens led to the firm gifting a cheque for £500 to the Whiting Bay and District Improvements Committee to assist with the upkeep of the village toilets.
The committee, which has adopted the toilet facilities, is still in the early stages of deciding the fate of the building and while it is still undecided if they are to be replaced or refurbished, an extensive group of volunteers are determined to keep the facilities open.
