Brodick Primary School were crowned overall victors at the Arran Schools Orienteering Championship. Organisers could not have expected better weather or a finer location to hold their second event last Thursday.
The 155 youngsters who took part in the timed event, held in the spring sunshine in the lush and blooming gar dens of Brodick Castle, revelled in the challenge, which was likened to a modern-day treasure hunt. The sunshine and excitement of the challenge meant that there were plenty of smiles all round as the children excitedly ran from control to control marking off their accomplishments as they went along.
