Creative writers on Arran are invited to take part in this year’s Robin Whyte Creative Writing competition to be in line to win £200 and a fine trophy.
The award is named after the much-respected Irvine lawyer Robin Whyte who was a talented creative writer of poetry, lyrics and prose, as well as a witty after-dinner speaker, not least as a past president of the Irvine Burns Club.
Robin died in 2015 and as a tribute to his creativity an appropriate trophy was locally commissioned, along with an annual cash prize of £200 for a piece of creative writing by an Ayrshire and Arran based or born writer, aged 16 or over.
