By happy coincidence, Jim’s son David was present in the clubhouse to present the trophy to winner Murray Foggo, who pipped present captain David Brookens on a countback, both players carding net level par rounds of 63. 1 Murray Foggo 10, 63 ACB, 2 David Brookens 12, 63, 3 Alan Foggo 3, 64 ACB and lowest gross, 4 John Pennycott 13, 64. Brian Murray and Sandy Pringle bagged the only magic twos of the day @4th and @17th respectively.
Saturday July 30, ladies open. The new 15-hole stable ford format, miss ing out holes 8, 9 and 10, proved popular and everyone enjoyed a fun game of golf with those in the afternoon having the added bonus of glorious sunshine.
The delighted winner, for the second time in 22 years, was Lesley Wood with 33pts, second Mary Maguire 31pts and third Beth Paterson 27pts. Beth also had a magic two @17th.
