DAMIAN HALL
Damian Hall: the writer fell in love with long-distance running in the hills and has exceeded all of his own expectations
DAMIAN HALL has written about many of the world’s most famous runs – for example, the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc, the London Marathon and Costa Rica’s Coastal Challenge.
His running/writing resume also includes everything from vertical kilometre races to Santa Dashes. It’s often said that good journalists immerse themselves in their subject matter. Hall has done just that and more.
In a few short years, not only has he become one of the leading running/outdoor journalists in the UK, but he’s also got rather good at running. So good in fact that he was selected for the GB team for the IAU Ultra Trail World Championships in Portugal last weekend, where he finished 81st.
Were you a runner at school? What are your reflections on running and sport in your formative years?
