Keeping your neighbours on side
When you embark on a self build project, you can expect to encounter a few challenges along the way. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of also having to contend with difficult neighbours, this can add unnecessary stress and worry. Thankfully, there are some tactics you can employ from the outset to keep the local community onside.
Before work begins on site, introduce yourself to your neighbours. A well-written letter outlining your start date on site (with plenty of notice), indicative timescales, and when you expect any significant disruption (such as deliveries blocking the road etc) is vital to build goodwill.
