Redman wins on Islay

A TORY who once said he could not even place Eton on a map was elected to Argyll and Bute Council as one of three councillors representing Kintyre and the Islands.

Alastair Redman, 29, who runs a post office in Portnahaven, joins Scottish National Party (SNP) veteran Anne Horn, 69, and Robin Currie, Scottish Liberal Democrats (SLD), as the councillors representing ward two, which had a 54.1 per cent voting turnout.
