Rain dampens quality at Leishman Memorial

TORRENTIAL rain took its toll on the bowls at a sodden Stronvaar green.

Campbeltown Bowling Club hosted the Robert Leishman Memorial Fours competition last Saturday, with 21 teams competing on a day that started in dry, cold and overcast conditions and ended in torrential rain.

The green was well paced for one of the club’s blue riband events, sponsored by R Leishman and Son, and only slowed due to the constant rain.
