Arriving off the back of two of the greatest 7"s of all time, the anticipation for Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s debut album was off the scale, with advance orders of more than one million. ZTT, never a label shy of making an impact, decided to give fans an epic, 16-track double LP, including not just Relax and Two Tribes and future singles The Power Of Love and Welcome To The Pleasuredome, but three surprising covers - Bacharach and David’s Do You Know The Way To San Jose? (titled San Jose (The Way) on the album), Bruce Springsteen’s Born To Run and Gerry & The Pacemakers’ Ferry Cross The Mersey. Krisco Kisses, meanwhile, was an X-rated delight, while the playful The Only Star In Heaven could and should have been a single.
