˃ Caelum Audio is a small developer who have gradually built a stable of easy-touse, creative effects plugins. They originally developed a rather excellent free cassette tape emulation plugin followed by their free Flux Mini filter effect. Since then they’ve delivered a fully fledged tape and delay effect, Tape Pro, a multistage distortion effect, Beef, and most recently their multi effects processor, Flux Pro.
Our own exclusive Caelum Audio plugin, Flux Mini CM, was an enhanced version of their original Flux Mini plugin, and in line with the latest version, Flux Mini 2, we now have a fully updated version of our CM plugin, Flux Mini 2 CM.
Flux Mini 2 CM is a multimode filter and amplitude plugin with integrated graph-based control and MIDI triggering. It has more options than its predecessor and the new interface looks slicker and more professional. You now have better adjustment of the core parameters, and with independent depth sliders for each of the five controllable parameters, it’s easy to create complex multifaceted effects.
The curve is highly editable and its features include a handy snap grid and floating toolbar. You can also run it either sync’d to DAW tempo or in free time (maximum curve length is 10 seconds). Further features include MIDI triggering and output of the graph parameters via MIDI CC. Rounding things off are 36 presets.
Here we’ll run through what’s on offer and then show you some practical applications for this impressively slick new addition to the CM Suite. Naturally, if you like Flux Mini 2 CM then you should definitely check out the aforementioned Flux Pro. With four effects modules, three editable modulation curves and a choice of 10 effects, it’s a highly creative plugin that’s a doddle to use. Head over to caelumaudio.com for more info.
