Temmosus (Alan Wheatley) meets his end in the first Dalek story.
It’s not until the fourthepisode of The Mutants (aka The Daleks, 1963-64) that the metal meanies turn deadly. The first on-screen victim, Thal leader Temmosus (Alan Wheatley), makes the mistake of telling the duplicitous Daleks that he’s in favour of peace and co-operation, which isn’t their cup of tea at all. Although it’s not the first time a Dalek gun is fired (Ian had been shot non-fatally in an earlier episode) and there’s no cry of “Exterminate!” (merely the less iconic “Fire!”), this is the Daleks setting out their (scary) stall for the future. A taste of what’s to come.
