The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is opening a unique new visitor centre in June that will shine a light on the work of the remarkable organisation at the heart of remembrance of the war dead.
The CWGC Experience will give visitors to the battlefields of Northern France a behindthe- scenes look at the teams who still work painstakingly to care for the fallen. The centre aims to provide a greater understanding of the CWGC’s work at more than 23,000 sites across the globe, commemorating the 1.7 million men and women who died in the service of King and Country during the two world wars. The visitor centre project has been made possible with a £700,000 LIBOR grant and is backed by the UK government.
