The War Department ‘Austerity’ 2‐10‐0 will become the first ‘OO’ locomotive project for the Clark Railworks team. It’s also the first time this impressive prototype has been offered in RTR form.
Designed and engineered in the UK, the Clark Railworks team have been helped by the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway Society (M&GN), the North Norfolk Railway, Ian Foot and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, The Severn Valley Railway (SVR) and the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (KWVR).
The model will feature a high-quality coreless motor and gear train, with a die-cast metal boiler, smokebox and chassis providing weight to aid adhesion. Plenty of detail variations are being catered for, including left and right-hand drive variants and Westinghouse pumps. Models will be available in DCC-ready and DCC sound format, with an easy-access Next18 DCC harness.
