A SHOCKING and completely unprovoked attack on a young woman who was walking on the Railway Pier in October came to the attention of Oban Sheriff Court on Monday.
The young woman, who was walking to work shortly after 8.30am on Thursday October 13, saw the man, Donald McGillivray, 45, approach her and she said she had instantly felt threatened by him.
McGillivray, who said he suffered from mental health problems and that instability of medication had been behind the attack, kicked the young woman on the legs to bring her to the ground before repeatedly kicking her to the head and body before a passer-by stopped the assault.
