THE owner of a cottage in Taynuilt heard a loud noise, an engine revving and went outside to find a car in their hedge and fencing knocked over.
The car was driven by Richard Reid, 43, of Falcolner Rise, Livingston, who also lives at Dalavich, who admitted drink-driving on December 16 last year on the B845.
Sheriff Patrick Hughes heard on Wednesday that the householder contacted police and, when officers arrived at the scene, they breathalysed Reid. The reading was 86 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, when the limit is 22 in Scotland.
