A NEW campsite on Tiree was approved at a local hearing in Crossapol hall on Tuesday.
Karl Hughes applied to create a campsite, including 10 motorhome and 10 tent pitches plus toilets and showers, on land north of Sunset Cottage, Balevullin.
A council report recorded 12 supporters and 18 objectors. Officers recommended councillors approve the campsite, because it would visually integrate with the landscape, contribute to Tiree’s tourism economy, and reduce ‘indiscriminate overnight sites’.
