Currie scores significant second podium in Somerset

TOBERMORY teenager Alasdair Currie scored another second place finish, giving an early boost to his championship campaign.

Currie and co-driver Steven Brown are contesting the Fiesta ST Trophy in the BTRDA Rally championship. The pair made a 1,200-mile round trip to contest the Somerset Stages Rally, round two of seven gravel events. An impressive drive saw them claim second place and take a strong haul of championship points.

‘I’ve been able to show my pace is improving rapidly and managed to score my first stage wins on gravel. That was a good feeling, especially considering my limited experience in the car.’
