MEMBERS of the Appin branch of the Scottish Women’s Institute met on Thursday March 16 in Port Appin Hall when president Doreen Evans welcomed Duncan Mac-Corquodale of the Creagan Inn.
Duncan, who is no stranger to Port Appin, demonstrated three of ‘Creagan’s Culinary Creations’, starting with superfood salad which included kale, quinoa, blueberries and goat’s cheese. Duncan’s hot dishes were beef stroganoff and teriyaki salmon. Members were invited to sample all three dishes and the verdict was ‘absolutely delicious’.
Myra MacDougall led a hearty vote of thanks to Duncan for a most enjoyable evening. After tea, competition results were announced as follows: handmade felted item - Gold, Jane Parkin; Red, Alison MacCorquodale; Blue, Doreen Evans and Green, Catriona MacKenzie. Sugar mice - Gold, Myra MacDougall. The trophy for Mrs Ross’s baking competition was won by Chrissie Malone.
