More Roamerisms from the early 1990s
■ The ‘towrists’ never cease to amaze. In the middle of Thursday’s ‘tropical heatwave’, a home counties car and caravan pulled up outside Nevis Bakery in Fort William’s High Street. Out of the passenger seat stepped ‘the woman of the caravan’. She pulled down the step, clambered aboard and emerged clutching thermos flask and sandwiches and proceeded, with caravan man, to have a pavement picnic. I reckon Archie should have reported them for ‘breach of the ‘piece’’!
